Lauren Angalis Field is a writer, photographer, and filmmaker from Portland, Oregon. They split time between New York City and the West Coast.
The images in this feature are part of “Practice Permanence,” a portrait series of Field’s queer friends in their bedrooms and around the west coast. Field states: “[Practice Permanence] emerged out of my own gender transition. The images are shot on medium format film, drawing from classical imagery to examine sites of queerness and intimacy.”
