This week we feature the work of photographer and filmmaker Melanie Shatzky.
Shatzky’s series Engage Me with Your Pleasantries is a fractured narrative about fear and dread in the domestic sphere. It is an exploration of the myths and surfaces of residential comfort and how they can be agents of repression in spite of otherwise benevolent intentions.
Shatzky is presenting work in collaboration with her partner Brian M. Cassidy in a group show titled “Moving Image”, opening March 9th at Honey Ramka (Brooklyn NY)
